MasterClass has introduced MasterClass On Call, enabling real-time voice conversations to democratize the knowledge of world-class instructors. Users can talk with AI versions of famous instructors like Gordon Ramsay and Mark Cuban to receive personalized coaching.

This service is built on ElevenLabs' Text to Speech technology. ElevenLabs delivered outstanding voice quality, Low latency, and 18 months of close collaboration to perfectly capture each instructor's distinctive tone and emotion.

As a result of the rollout, more than 75% of users are using the voice feature, and voice users showed noticeably higher retention and engagement. In particular, the following safety framework was applied to preserve each instructor's brand identity:

• Training stage: Accuracy and tone testing through red teaming
• Inference stage: Operation of a real-time moderation system
• Human review: Expert moderators directly review high-risk flags

Going forward, MasterClass plans to enhance its AI Roleplay feature, which lets users practice communication, leadership, and interviews, to provide an even deeper learning experience.
