Lovable Releases 'Drafts' Feature for Parallel App Experimentation

Lovable has released the Drafts feature, which allows users to experiment with various designs and content in parallel without touching the live version of their projects. Previously, all changes were applied directly to the project, leading to frequent conflicts or rollbacks during collaboration, but Drafts provides independent chat and preview environments.

Improved Collaboration and Experimentation Environments

Drafts serves as a playground where team members, clients, copywriters, and others can explore ideas within the actual project environment. Each Draft is managed as a separate version and does not affect the live app until the user accepts and publishes it. This allows for the simultaneous comparison of multiple design directions and the selection of the optimal version.

Current Support Scope and Limitations

Currently, Drafts supports only frontend changes, excluding modifications to database structures or login settings. Specifically, the following elements can be experimented with in Drafts:

• Color, font, and layout changes
• Testing headlines, subheaders, and CTA copy
• Replacing images, illustrations, and video content
• Scroll animations, carousels, and sticky navigation bars
• Modifying copy for promotion bars, button labels, 404 pages, etc.

Drafts operates by referencing the database of the published application, with plans to expand its support scope in the future.
