kt cloud Unveils Goal to Secure 1GW AIDC Capacity and Composite AI Strategy at 2026 Summit

At the 'kt cloud summit 2026' held on September 15, kt cloud revealed its core infrastructure strategy for AI Transformation (AX). Kim Bong-gyun, CEO of kt cloud, stated that under KT's 'AX Platform Company' vision, they would support Korea's AX transformation centered on AIDC and the kt cloud PLATFORM.

AIDC Expansion and Next-Generation Technologies

kt cloud aims to expand AIDC supply based on actual demand, targeting the securing of 1GW capacity within the next five years. Leveraging over 25 years of data center construction experience, they plan to apply next-generation technologies such as Liquid Cooling Systems and modular DCs, while strengthening competitiveness by combining KT's network capabilities and energy infrastructure.

Expanding the Role of Cloud: Composite AI

Kong Yong-jun, Head of the Cloud Division, emphasized that Cloud must evolve beyond simple resource provision into a Composite AI platform that connects various AI models and data. The kt cloud PLATFORM, backed by proven technology in the public cloud sector, is expanding into the private sector and developing into an integrated platform that supports DR and AI utilization.

On-site Exhibitions and Partnerships

The event featured demonstrations of AIDC operation automation technologies such as BIM, Digital Twin, and D2C (Direct-to-Chip) cooling, as well as high-availability demos based on Multi-AZ. Major partners including Rebellions, Ravelup, and Dell Technologies participated, showcasing technologies for the AX ecosystem such as AI infrastructure and security.
