Kakao to Host if(kakao)25 Conference, Revealing KakaoTalk Overhaul and KANANA Model Achievements

Kakao will host its 7th technical conference, if(kakao)25, at the Kakao AI Campus in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, from September 23 to 25. Under the slogan 'Possibility Becomes Daily Life,' the event aims to share technical achievements and service directions focused on the mass adoption of AI.

On the first day, September 23, CEO Shin Jung-ah will announce the KakaoTalk overhaul, new AI services, and a joint product with OpenAI. CPO Hong Min-taek will present the specific direction of the KakaoTalk overhaul, while Kim Byung-hak, Leader of the KANANA Performance Team, will reveal the refinement process of the in-house developed KANANA model.

The second day features sessions deeply exploring Kakao's AI technical capabilities. Leader Kim Byung-hak will share use cases of the KANANA model and Agentic AI development strategies, while Lee Sang-ho, Leader of the AI Safety & Quality Performance Team, will present AI ethics and safety plans. Additionally, attempts to expand the agent ecosystem, such as on-device AI and the open MCP platform PlayMCP, will be introduced.

The final day, September 25, will be held as 'Crew Day' for employees, where they can experience the KANANA language model, multimodal model, and video model firsthand in an experience zone. Registration opens at noon on August 28 via the official website.
