Kakao Expands Coaching to Scale JIRA-based 'OpenWork' as Standard Work Tool

Kakao emphasizes work transparency to build trust and has introduced OpenWork as a way of working to realize this goal. Like agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, which prioritize transparency as a core value, Kakao aims to transparently publish and connect all work based on JIRA, its internal standard work management tool.

To facilitate the practical adoption of OpenWork, Kakao developed the JCMM (Jira Capability Maturity Model). JCMM is a model that assesses and guides organizations to improve their maturity in how transparently they reflect their work, encompassing not only JIRA usage but also principles and behaviors for work management.

Recognizing that simple document distribution or seminars alone are insufficient for widespread adoption, Kakao began customized coaching for each organization in September 2020. This coaching, conducted for over 40 teams to date, is designed as a process where team members share the 'Why' and 'What' of work management and independently discover the 'How' suited to their specific team context.
