Kakao FE Community Shares Technical Insights via Online Sessions Amid Remote Work

FE developers from Kakao, Kakao Commerce, and Kakao Enterprise held a Community FE Online Session at the end of 2020. This was the second meeting since the meetup in November of last year. It was conducted online to allow safe participation in a remote work environment, and presentation videos were also prepared to share insights with external developers.

The presentations consisted of specific problem-solving cases encountered in actual work.

• Global State Management: Developer Kim Seon-ho from Kakao shared his experience and trial-and-error in managing global state in real projects without using libraries.
• Scroll and State Restoration: Developer Kim Min-hyeong from Kakao Commerce shared his experience developing a module that restores scroll position and app state even during in-app routing and external entry. This is cited as an important UX issue that can impact revenue.
• Design System: Developer Jeon Woo-jin from Kakao Enterprise introduced the problems that arise when scaling the system and the resolution process through the design system project conducted for the Daum search service.

Participants responded that the specific problem-approach methods and resolution processes were beneficial, and Kakao plans to continue communicating with developers in the future.
