[RVO] How Nisawa Achieves Reliable Delivery in African Cities

Many businesses in African cities operate in environments lacking physical addresses and delivery infrastructure. They mainly entrust goods to unreliable individual motorcycle taxi drivers by verbally explaining directions, a process that frequently results in problems such as lost items, damage, and untraceability.

Nisawa solves this problem through professional delivery drivers and technology infrastructure. To enable delivery even without a physical address via its mobile and web app, it leverages a map containing thousands of landmarks (schools, churches, government offices, etc.). Users can specify a location based on a landmark, or securely share their current location through the app.

Additionally, to efficiently utilize existing motorcycle taxi drivers, Nisawa designed a dedicated delivery container (55cm³) that can be easily attached to any motorcycle. Since its beta launch in January 2021, Nisawa has grown weekly deliveries from 96 to 251 through word of mouth alone, recording an average weekly growth rate of 27.2%.
