Chrome Gets Smarter and More Convenient with 'Gemini in Chrome', Launching in Korea

Google officially launched the latest Chrome AI features, including Gemini in Chrome, in Korea on April 20, 2026. It will first be available on desktop and iOS, and runs on Gemini 3.1.

Web tasks without leaving the tab

• While shopping, it can organize product information from multiple sites into a table for comparison.

Image transformation and security

• The Nano Banana 2 model is built into Chrome, handling image transformation without separate uploads or new tabs.
• For example, you can instantly preview interior design before arranging furniture.
• It has been trained to identify AI-specific threats such as prompt injection.
• Sensitive tasks like sending emails or adding calendar events are designed to require user confirmation.
