Mistral AI to Add Code and Apps Features to Vibe (Le Chat)

Mistral AI is developing two key features to expand its web service, Vibe (Le Chat), from a simple conversational tool into a powerful productivity platform.

The first is the Code section. Positioned alongside the existing Chat and Work areas, this feature will allow users to use coding agents directly in the browser without any terminal setup, and is expected to elevate coding to a core service.

The second is the Apps area. Similar to Anthropic's Artifacts or OpenAI's in-chat apps, this feature will let users build, host, and share apps that connect data or run multi-step workflows.

These changes suggest that Mistral AI is moving beyond being a simple model lab toward becoming a comprehensive product platform. This is also expected to coincide with the release of a new open-weight model based on a MoE (Mixture-of-Experts) architecture set to be unveiled this summer, building a Europe-based open ecosystem distinct from major U.S. tech companies.
