GPT-4o-based AI development platform, Verdi, unveiled

Mercado Libre, the largest e-commerce company in Latin America, has introduced Verdi, an AI development platform utilizing GPT-4o, GPT-4o mini, and GPT-3.5 Turbo. The platform is designed to efficiently manage 17,000 developers and over 30,000 microservices.

The most central application of Verdi is the autonomization of customer service mediation. AI now performs the resolution of disputes between buyers and sellers, work that was previously handled directly by humans, and it can also interact with external APIs and internal staff when needed.

The impact of its introduction is very powerful. It has already begun handling 10% of customer service mediation on major sites, and has the potential to autonomously manage up to $450 million worth of customer service decisions annually going forward. This is expected to support the work of 9,000 human operators.

Verdi has the following technical characteristics.

• Natural language-centered development: Developers can proceed with the development process using only natural language without directly viewing the source code, lowering cognitive load.
• Integrated security and routing: Security guardrails and routing logic are built into the platform, ensuring both scalability and safety at the same time.
• Neural network-structured framework: It performs complex tasks by connecting language models, Python nodes, APIs, and more, and through GPT-4o's multimodal capabilities, advanced tasks such as visually determining whether a product is damaged are possible.
