Nvidia's Jensen Huang teams up with UK startup Ineffable Intelligence to open AI's next frontier

Nvidia is beginning engineering-level collaboration with UK startup Ineffable Intelligence. The goal is to build AI systems that learn through reinforcement learning rather than human data — superlearners that continuously accumulate experience.

Ineffable is a London-based startup founded in late 2025, led by founder David Silver, a former DeepMind reinforcement learning team leader and UCL professor. The company raised a $1.1 billion seed round in April, with participation from Nvidia as well as Sequoia, Lightspeed, DST Global, Index, Google, and the UK Sovereign AI Fund.

The collaboration centers on three areas.

• Learning approach: Trial-and-error learning based on diverse experience rather than human language data
• Infrastructure: Building large-scale reinforcement learning pipelines using Nvidia's Grace Blackwell chips and Vera Rubin platform
• Technical challenges: Designing new model architectures and learning algorithms

Silver said that while existing AI has largely solved the problem of learning knowledge that humans already know, the harder problem now is enabling systems to discover new knowledge on their own. New AI labs such as Recursive Superintelligence, AMI Labs, Periodic Labs, and Humans& have also recently attracted large sums of funding.
