Universal Music Group (UMG) and Stability AI announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop next-generation professional music production tools to support the creative process of artists, producers, and songwriters. This collaboration is built on responsibly trained generative AI.

Both companies will place artists at the center of the development process, prioritizing feedback from the creative community. Through this, they aim to build fully licensed, commercially safe AI music tools that drive innovation while preserving artistic integrity.

Stability AI already supports high-quality music and sound generation through Stable Audio, a specialized audio model trained exclusively on licensed data. Through this partnership, the companies plan to research artists' needs and explore new recording and composition concepts.

This collaboration extends Stability AI's strategic partnerships with companies such as Electronic Arts (EA) and WPP. Stability AI plans to continue building specialized tools and workflows across various creative industries that accelerate the creative process without compromising quality or artistic control.
