Google Cloud Next 2024 Recap Part 1: An AI-Upgraded Google Cloud and Our Response

Google Cloud Next 2024 showcased a Google Cloud stack reorganized around AI under the slogan 'The new way to cloud'. The core of this conference lies in the convenience and productivity improvements of services utilizing Gemini.

Google's AI cloud stack consists of three layers. First, high-performance hardware such as TPU, NVIDIA GPU, and the in-house developed Axion, along with the infrastructure based on GKE that efficiently supports them.

Second, the Gemini 1.5 Pro model. This model is equipped with multimodal processing capabilities and a 1 million Context Window, enabling advanced reasoning that can analyze an hour-long video or a 10,000-page document in an instant.

Third, Vertex AI, an AI development platform. Vertex AI supports machine learning tasks through the following key components.

• Model Garden: a model store offering over 130 foundation models based on Gemini
• Model Builder: a development tool supporting prompt engineering and model version management
• Agent Builder: a tool for creating and managing custom agents optimized for business
