Behind the Story: The Engineer and Designer Support Process for Tech Week 2025

LINE Yahoo's annual tech festival, Tech Week 2025 (June 30–July 4), consisted of Tech-Verse (a tech conference) and Hack Day (an internal hackathon), with over 1,500 people participating.

At Tech-Verse, about 130 sessions were held. To reduce the burden on speakers, the DevRel team provided systematic support over 3 months, from proposal submission to the actual presentation, as follows:

• Providing a step-by-step To-do guide
• Pre-proposal consulting and review by experts and the PR and IP teams
• Support for creating presentation materials and presentation practice sessions

In addition, sessions were organized into Tracks by specific technical domain to encourage natural interaction among participants with similar interests, and the 'Best Speaker' award raised the value of presenting.

Hack Day is a hackathon where participants step away from their usual work and freely develop projects using new technologies such as AI. In particular, the Global Mixed Team category, in which members from multiple countries including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam form teams, has established itself as a key program for strengthening global collaboration capabilities.
