Upstage adds search function to AskUp

Upstage has expanded its KakaoTalk AI chatbot AskUp by adding a ? search feature that finds the latest information. The aim is to compensate for the limitation of ChatGPT, which was only trained on information up to 2021, and to reduce hallucination by attaching source links to answers.

AskUp is a service that combines OpenAI's ChatGPT with Upstage's OCR technology. It can read and answer based on photos or documents sent to it, and surpassed 350,000 channel friends within 18 days of launch. Adding the channel on KakaoTalk gives users 100 free GPT-3.5 messages and 10 free GPT-4 messages.

By attaching a ? before a keyword in the chat window, users get a summarized search result along with source links. For example, asking ? Upstage, ? AskUp, or ? this year's flowering season immediately shows the latest search results.
