Gemini 3.5 Flash Delivers Excellent Performance for Its Impressive Speed

Google has introduced a new model optimized for agentic tasks, Gemini 3.5 Flash. This model is designed as a hybrid model with performance positioned between the speed of existing Flash models and high-performance models (Opus, GPT-5.5).

It is particularly focused on executing complex, long-running agentic workflows. On agentic and coding benchmarks such as Terminal-Bench and MCP Atlas, it outperforms Gemini 3.1 Pro.

Key features are as follows:

• Overwhelming speed: 4x faster than other frontier models, and up to 12x faster within the Google Antigravity environment.
• Cost efficiency: Faster and cheaper than Claude Opus 4.7 or GPT-5.5, though more expensive than the previous generation of Flash models.
• Knowledge cutoff: Set at January 2025.

While this model doesn't necessarily deliver state-of-the-art (SOTA) intelligence, it is expected to be a powerful tool for personal utilities where fast response times are essential, as well as for agentic environments that require repetitive loop-based tasks.
