Lemon Slice

Lemon Slice has launched a new interactive avatar platform that lets users make FaceTime-style calls based on photos they upload. The style of the photo can range without limitation from realistic to cartoon to animals.

To give the avatars intelligent conversation capabilities, the company integrated the ElevenLabs Agents Platform. This allowed it to implement the complex voice interaction layer—including voice activity detection (VAD), conversation interruption handling, and low-latency speech synthesis—without building it in-house, speeding up time to market.

The platform uses a streaming diffusion transformer model to put a 'face' on the voice agent. It also provides the following advanced features by default:

• Custom MCP server integration
• Knowledge base connection
