Apple Unveils First Foldable iPhone Duo with 7.6-inch Display and A20 Pro

Apple has unveiled its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo. The device launches on October 23, 2026, with prices starting at $1,999. It features a Super Retina XDR display that measures 7.6 inches when unfolded and 5.4 inches when folded, with a peak brightness of up to 3000 nits.

Performance and Hardware The iPhone Duo is equipped with the same A20 Pro chip as the iPhone 18 Pro, but enhances AI processing performance through a Dual 16-core Neural Engine. The CPU is up to 50% faster than the A19 Pro, and GPU performance is also improved by up to 50%. To improve battery efficiency, it features the first dual-battery architecture in an iPhone, allowing for a 50% charge in just 20 minutes via wired charging.

Display and Durability The inner display provides 50% more surface area than the iPhone 18 Pro Max, utilizing a nano-texture finish and optically clear adhesive to minimize creases. The outer display covers more than 90% of the area of the iPhone 18 Pro. The frame and hinge are made of Grade 5 titanium, and the device features Ceramic Shield and IP68 water resistance to ensure durability.

Biometric Authentication and Software Notably, the iPhone Duo uses Touch ID integrated into the side button instead of Face ID. iOS 27 has been redesigned for the foldable form factor, supporting 'Posable design' features such as StandBy mode and Hands-free FaceTime. Additionally, Apple Intelligence and Siri AI support personal context search and app actions, while the Apple Pencil (USB-C) is also scheduled for release within the year.
