OpenAI GPT-6 Astra has launched in GA on Amazon Bedrock. This model supports a context window of up to 1 million input tokens, making it suitable for processing large codebases and documents, and offers deep reasoning and advanced browser usage capabilities. Additionally, the Amazon Quick desktop app has launched in GA on macOS and Windows, supporting local file operations and background agent execution.

Infrastructure and Developer Tool Improvements

The asynchronous invocation and event source mapping function timeout for AWS Lambda Managed Instances has increased sixfold from the previous 15 minutes to 90 minutes. This is useful for tasks requiring long execution times, such as media transcoding or AI inference. Amazon EBS Volume Clones now support cross-account volume copying and KMS re-encryption, and the second-generation single-rack AWS Outposts has also launched in GA, offering up to 2,688 vCPUs and 100 TB of storage.
