Kakao Agile Clinic Enhances Completeness Through Customer Participation and Iterative Incremental Development

Kakao Agile Coaches shared their experience operating the 'Kakao Agile Clinic' via the if(kakao)2021 conference. Initially, due to unclear participant targets, they communicated with customers and identified requirements using a public question platform instead of making precise predictions. This reduced duplicate questions and optimized answer preparation time, but they learned that providing examples and mandatory elements would be necessary in the future to improve question quality.

Organic Combination of Division of Labor and Collaboration

During the preparation process for the clinic, division of labor and collaboration were flexibly applied according to the situation. Collaboration was used to share common knowledge during the question classification and mutual understanding alignment stages, while division of labor was used to increase volume during the answer writing stage, after which the team reconvened to harmonize into a single voice. This process also contributed to the growth of the Agile Coaches.

Importance of Iterative Incremental Development and Retrospectives

Rather than pursuing perfection, an iterative incremental approach was adopted. A minimum viable level was set through numerous rehearsals and gradually improved, with retrospectives conducted immediately after each rehearsal to derive improvements based on vivid memories. Feedback and retrospective results from the first day's broadcast served as the foundation for improving quality in the second and third days' broadcasts. The author emphasized that Agile is not a grandiose concept but a collection of principles and practices for better product delivery, recommending a reconfirmation of what is already being done well.
