Hugging Face's robotics library LeRobot v0.5.0 has achieved a massive expansion across hardware, model policies, datasets, and simulation.

Major Hardware Support Expansion

• Unitree G1 Humanoid Support: LeRobot's first humanoid integration, supporting Locomotion, Manipulation, Teleoperation, and Whole-Body Control.
• OpenArm and OpenArm Mini support has been added, expanding the range of robotic arm control.

Model Policy and Algorithm Advancement

• Pi0-FAST: Introduced an Autoregressive VLA model.
• Real-Time Chunking (RTC): Applied a technique for faster inference.
• PEFT Support: Includes features for efficient model fine-tuning.

Data and Simulation Efficiency Improvements

• Dataset Acceleration: The introduction of streaming video encoding has improved image training speed by 10x and encoding speed by 3x.
