Banksalad Ensures Completeness of Home Tab Development with POC and 114-Day Experiment

Technical Validation and Design through POC

Unlike its previous approach, Banksalad introduced a POC (Proof of Concept) during Home tab development to verify whether new technologies should be applied. Over about 3 weeks, through sample code writing and demo presentations, the team confirmed whether the technology met 3 criteria—scalability, ease of refactoring, and performance—and through this selected the optimal tech stack for implementing complex layouts. The team also designed a robust structure so that errors in some sections would not propagate to the entire screen.

Server Driven UI and Internal Testing

During development, the team adopted a Server Driven UI structure that enables rapid improvements without app updates. Before release, the team conducted 3 rounds of Pre-QA targeting about 150 internal members to enhance detailed completeness, including the accuracy of fluctuating amounts and UI expression.

114 Days of Conservative Experimentation and Rollout

The Home tab launch went through the longest experiment period in Banksalad's history, 114 days. Starting from October 2022, the team gradually expanded the user exposure ratio from 24% to 50% while monitoring metrics. There were initial concerns about a decline in revenue metrics, but the team improved the expected revenue metric by upgrading the 'Popular Financial Products' section. Full user rollout was completed at the end of January 2023, and this process involved team changes and discussions on defending metrics, with the conservative approach proving effective.
