Behind the Scenes with Kakao Pay Junior Server Developers

Three new server developers on Kakao Pay's Marketing Platform Team share their experiences with the hiring process and life at the company. Each of them is responsible for a coupon/event platform, points-related servers, and building a promotion page builder, respectively.

To prepare for the job, they emphasized solving algorithm problems, reviewing CS knowledge, and gaining hands-on experience through toy projects. After joining, they were able to quickly adapt to their work thanks to the company's internal wiki and buddy system.

In terms of work practices, the team uses daily scrums based on an Agile process, Jira ticket management, and code reviews. The team maintains a horizontal atmosphere where members participate in development from the planning stage, and has a unique culture of naming projects after the Marvel universe.
